You don't hear much about him anymore.
The article says he was a violent criminal, but then says police arrested 9 times for drugs and theft. So not violence then.
There's also a pic listing his sentences -
including 10 months in 1998 for armed robbery, and
5 years in 2007 for 'armed robbery of a pregnant woman in her home'
I'd class armed robbery as a violent crime.
But his past record is largely irrelevant in the case of the cops choking him .
*edit*
Reading on, the sentences listed in the pic are dubious, to say the least.
I think most people know George Floyd wasn't a saint, but even the woman in the link who found the way people were trying to turn him into one "despicable" admits that "No one thinks that he should have died in his arrest" and that has to be the overriding consideration surely?
That information makes it understandable and alright then that he was choked to death by a policeman’s knee in public.
Thinking on this, more of these quick judicial processes should be adopted in the UK? We could do with a clear out which wouldn’t cost the country billions in keeping the no good ****ers behind the doors.
Yes it was irrelevant to the case, but the media were making him out to be some kind of saint. Would you put a bloke on a pedestal who had 9 drink driving offences, and consider him to be a lovable rougue? The law is the law and we all have to abide by the rules, plus the article was written by the perception changing Snopes website.
So what your'e saying is that you want it both ways then - you're happy to make an irrelevant point which suits your agenda, but not to go into details about it. I think I'll leave things there because there are no end of threads already on here that have gone the way this one, almost certainly, will.
It's an interesting article to be fair, well balanced with some interesting points to make.
Very long though, maybe the reason Wales-Bales is a bit vague about it is that he only gave himself three minutes to read the whole thing (the attachment on Chauvin is equally as long as the main article) before replying. Life on Mars must've been tired because he didn't reply to Wales-Bales (it was quarter to one in the morning to be fair. Come to think about it, it was an amazing coincidence that both of them were on here at that time) and now seems to have forgotten he even started the thread because he hasn't come back to pass comment on it. Maybe he's got to the end of the article now and doesn't think it was such a good read after all.
