This outcome would not surprise me at all. The EFL have let this drag so long it is now impossible to see how they could disentangle the final league positions before the start of next season if they applied points deductions in 2019-20.

But some of the clubs that may get relegated as a result are not taking it quietly. Barnsley were threatening legal action against the EFL back in May if they didn't resolve the outstanding cases in-season.

Barnsley are the big drivers of this, and have been for some while. If Derby, Wednesday and Wigan all get deductions of 21, 21 and 12 points as has been suggested then they'd all get relegated.
