We've not seen Bale playing regular football week in, week out for getting on for two years, so it's hard to know how good or bad he'd be if given that chance. While I tend to edge towards the view that his best days are well behind him and he'd struggle to keep a place in the Spurs side on merit, I'm basing that on what he has been doing for Wales and it's asking a lot for anyone to be at full throttle and form if they are only getting two matches every two or three months - Bale is still only 31 and maybe his lack of playing time recently could extent his career a bit, so it's certainly not beyond the bounds of capability that he could prove someone like me hopelessly wrong.
