Presumably now Corbyn has gone you must be looking elsewhere to cast your vote or do you believe Starmer and Co share your view that capitalism is ineffective, unscrupulous and destructive.
Precious few non-capitalist countries exist so it's impossible to offer a comparison, however capitalism has virtually dominated the world for centuries and judge for yourself it's efficacy in reducing wars, poverty, disease, conflict and damage to the planet.

Your argument that you happen to know few friends who have not changed their political views since their youth is subjective and proves nothing; I on the other hand know many people who since our university days are still red hot socialists and compassionate people. I note you don't live in South Wales; perhaps you and your Ilk have been more fortunate than most in life.

No I don't believe Starmer is a socialist but he will get my vote because it is sometimes necessary to be pragmatic in politics and the most urgent need for everyone is to oust the right wing. More idealist nuances can be implemented after this imperative for the good of the world.
