    Thatcher stopping picketing

But letting the police charge horses into miners at Orgreave

Then the BBC showing miners fighting with police and throwing missiles , then being dispersed by police

When it was the miners who were attacked by the police on horseback and then the miners fought back

The Battle Of Orgreave is a very interesting watch

Always the same. Scruffy student types that protest about anything thinking it's cool.
Shame the police can't use rubber bullets on them and anyone caught get any benefits or grants they claim stopped.

Well thats a fair point and any protests at this time of lockdown are being questioned but I think the tories are just using this as an excuse to put the boot in

the legislation seems very rushed and Ill thought through.

potentially 10 years in prison for damaging a statue?
police can decide when protests begin and end and can arrest and fine people if they are too noisy.
there an a real danger that these new powers will be completely abused.

Sitting on top of a couple of trains might look quite tame in a few years compared to the effects of climate change.

They are designed to be abused, it won't be an accident.

I have mixed views about the new bill.

However this sort of protest will only help the Government in putting its proposals through. Any Tory MP's who are lukewearm towards the new proposals are likely to look on them more favourably if this sort of nonsense goes on.

The country is to a degree getting more polarised towards left or right, but the vast majority of the country are still more moderate I believe.

Interesting how the police are happy to release cctv for this, but that guy that died in custody in Cardiff they won't release the cctc as it "might prejudice enquiries"
