Lecturer sacked for throwing cardboard at sleeping pupil

Need to add context to this :

The lecturer is of 20 yrs experienced.
He attempted to call his name twice .
(Lightly ) lobbed cardboard.
Student had hoody dragged down over his head .
He was asleep.
He woke bleary eyed .


He didn't fire a missile Ffs .
Bloody good lecturer lost .
Hoody lad probably asleep now .

You don't throw things at people to get their attention. What was stopping the teacher walking over to the kid? If a kid wanted to ask the teacher a question would throwing something at him be an appropriate way to get his attention?
