A weird game tonight, lots of negativity on here.

After about 30 minutes in starting to have a feeling it was going to be one of those nights, the amount of times somebody would make a good run through a couple of players and then overhit a simple ball down the line by 20 yards was staggering, I thought we just couldn't adjust to the speed of the pitch and the wetness of the ball, lots of sliced crosses.

Overall though, I think we were the better team, first 15-20 and second half. Difference was a goalkeeper MOM display and a world class assist. Considering 5-6 starters not involved at all, some of the fringe players would have learnt a bit tonight.

Living in Australia I've managed to watch every Bale game in the MLS due to the good time zone for us here, it has been a very underwhelming viewing but when on the ball he looks head and shoulders above even at poor fitness, I think LAFC are struggling to find a fit in their forward line for him as the tactics and team set up are like nothing in europe, it's as if the pitch is way too big for the teams there. All the teams look like they lose their shape a lot and is very end to end without resulting in any good quality chances as the attacks fizzle out due to the poor attacking quality.

One aspect I feel is often overlooked is that the conditions are often horrible to play in, high humidity and soaring temperatures, Bale looked tired even after 20 minute cameos early in his move. However this should prepare him for Qatar really well so could give him a big advantage.
