Taken from this analysis of the 2019 election;-

Your "champagne socialists" are more likely to be people who are among the more intelligent in the country and so have been able to get on, as, opposed to your typical tory who relies on contacts, inherited wealth and a private education which produces the sort of strange individuals you see in the current Cabinet (I'm not being entirely serious there).

Anyway, using your logic whereby people who are well off should not vote Labour, why should anyone who is working class vote Tory? How on earth could they relate to the Eton educated Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson in the last General Election?
Because he didnt belittle, condescend, tell them they were stupid or thick or try to reverse how they voted in a referendum. Also, things like the miminum wage have risen far more under Tories than Labour, which is an elephant in the room you should address. Labour, I would suggest have always been better on welfare. In terms of helping people into work, and retaining good jobs etc, that battleground is far more complex.
