    Wtf are u on

If someone told me they were going to watch city on boxing day and were going to pay 100 quid for a seat in the posh gallery I think it would be reasonable to say go in the ninian stand for 25 quid and give the rest to a food bank , the homeless, women's aid etc this Xmas

You are not quite getting this are you ?

Next time you think about buying a carbon roach pole to add to your already extensive collection of fishing tackle... buy a handline instead and give the savings to the homeless!

Drinking and drugs are one of the main problems, especially dope the gateway drug, ask any social worker or mental health crisis team member, and most will confirm this.

It's a terrible situation, getting them off the streets and clean is a real problem and getting worse every year.

Its not 1980 mate dope is no longer the gateway drug, people are skipping to synthetic and hard drugs at a very young age. Sadly.

If you don't wish to give to the homeless for whatever reason that's entirely up to you but plenty of people do .
There are a lot of genuine previously hard-working people who end up on the streets, through a divorce or drastic sharp change of circumstances, there but for the grace of God go us all!

Ex-soldiers always get to me, how they can end up like that is tragic!

I mostly give some change or food from Greggs or somewhere if I'm near one, I'm not really sure if it's the best thing to do, but it feels better than seeing them freezing and looking starving.

You're probably right, even worse, it's such a slippery slope!

I have no idea what the point of your link is other than to show there were 17 on the 22 of September

Any drop at this time of year is because the council provides money to get the homeless off the streets as they don't want people stepping over them

It's at least 50 a night , the council are always massaging the figures

    Do whatever you can

I just think people who refuse to help in any way then try to weasel their way out of it are tight fisted

Soldiers are like nurses ....we clap and cheer them when we need them but then let them struggle

    No you don't

Spending thousands of pounds at Xmas on daft presents ......silly

Going down the football and as you pass a charity bucket for whatever charity is there and chucking in a tenner ........Nice one

This could be a good discussion on the homeless but you got involved and it's going south

You possibly think you do as you are more able to afford your lifestyle but this I work hard plea is plain daft

    r
Im sure He feels he works harder that the druggies outside the supermarket

Im amazed by this post, and im not sure if its serious or not, I might be getting wooshed

Both myself and my wife work hard , in April this year she started up her own business, she is doing the same job but working for herself
( as does my oldest daughter who is at Uni, she has to buy her own alcohol and pay for her entertainment, to do that she has 3 part time jobs )

Now we both pay out taxes ( which in turn pays for NHS, benefits and the help people get ) if no-one worked and paid taxes, where does all the money come from ? ? the money tree ? ? ?

Are you serious that we shouldn't be able to go on holidays ? ?? or should feel guilty about it ? ? ?

Im with JRH here, I give no money to the beggars on the street ( who normally spend it on drugs or drink ) if I see youngsters, I might buy a bar of chocolate for them, but thats it

as a side note ( and ive mentioned it before ) I help out at a food bank, also at a charity that refurbs bikes and scooters and the money is used to helped the homeless equip flats they move into, buy a bed etc etc ) I only collect the bikes in my van and occasionally spot them on Facebook market place and go and pick them up, its nothing much, but its good for my Karma
2 weeks ago, I dropped off 200 " selection boxes " ( only the £1.09 type, nothing too extravagant ) to the food bank I help out at, my idea was this week when someone collects a bag of food for 4, they get 4 selection boxes to have a little festive joy

My biggest issue is these folks, most suffer from PTSD and have been cast aside by society, its shocking, Ive mentioned my garage down in Tidworth on here before, its still being paid for and still occasionally used ( according to the housing officer )

how we let these poor soldiers fall through the gaps is terrible

A foodbank more local to myself will be getting about £30 worth of food same as they do every other year. The days of me giving that amount in change every month to chancers under the guise of being homeless to spend on crack / heroin are long gone. Deal with it.

if I am feeling especially festive and jolly and I am behind an elderly person in the queue at the corner shop asking to top up their gas by £20 I might offer to pay for it. Might. Not promising.

Feck me you are a moderator

Do you seriously think you work any harder than say dai Jones the cleaner who works nights at the hospital ?

Feck me who are you to say the money you give to the homeless goes on drugs and drink

Jesus christ no wonder the homeless charities struggle to get money at this time of year with you walking the other way

    Fecking joke
