Thread: Jacinda Adern resigns

    Jacinda Adern resigns

Surprised. They have a general election later in the year.

Feted by some of the press here for her zero Covid policy. Was very popular but has lost a lot of that in the last year or so.

Politics is becoming poisonous everywhere: when I was in the otherwise civilised country of New Zealand two months ago there were stickers on pick-up trucks sporting the words "F*ck Jacinda" (but without the asterisk) accompanied with a logo of a middle finger gesticulation.

    Indeed. It's depressing.

I looked at the polls the other day funnily enough and you won't see a more dramatic decline in popularity than her parties at their peak to now. It's very considerable and to me a sign that NZ probably didn't get the balance on Covid right in the end, as medical factors have to be weighed against economic and social.

Nonetheless she strikes me as a good person who sought to do the best

Ardern's one of WEF's (Fourth Reich's) young global leaders.

This week Labour's Starmer, Reeves and Badenoch have been kneeling before them.

This is Tucker Carlson's great assault on an organisation that is coordinating the controlled demolition of economies in order to usher in their dystopian Great Reset.

    Re: Jacinda Adern resigns

The last election wasn't a particularly resounding victory - in fact it was a close-run affair - and you can see she's having problems holding her party together for the next one. It's clear she's not as popular as people think she is, and so perhaps she's getting out while the going's good. There's also the sense that she's starting to be considered a liability by some people in her own party. The world's press always seem to have a field day when a woman gets elected to any top job, particularly if they're young(ish). But it only lasts as long as they are successful, and that's the same whether you're male or female - nothing lasts forever in politics. It's all a big juggling act trying to keep everyone happy, and it's a hard trick to pull off for any length of time.
But....you can't help but think that she's chucking in the towel as soon as it starts getting tough, and that's not a good look, male or female.

The 25-minute documentary linked below may shed some light upon why those stickers appeared.

I can anticipate your reply: it can't be true, my BBC news would have informed me.

It's taken an age for Elon Musk to cotton on but good on him for saying so.

She seemed to me to be a decent, honest, caring human being who has been worn down by constant criticism and the kind of vile stuff you quote. Who would want her job?!!
