Ampadu almost plays a specialist roll, which means that a team has to accommodate him, allow him to drop off, work the spaces between the midfield and defence, he's the 2nd defender in a defensive pairing, decent in possession, decent with time and space. Struggles (in my opinion) when the game is compressed or when the opposition play a high line, he can be guilty of ball watching and losing concentration. A good player in possession, suspect when not.
