Pretty neutral, I think the present squad (including Ramsey) would face another struggle I reckon we need some good loan signings if we are to improve on last season.

In fairness, we don't know how well Collins will/has recovered from serious injury. We also don't know whether Meite will be able to rediscover his form prior to an identical injury.
Having both a fit O'Dowda and Robinson return will be a big boost.
Will the new centre-back be an improvement on a very reliable Kipre? Time will tell.

Personally I think the team of last year were not dealt a fair hand - so many new players, ridiculous turnover of managers and longish term injuries to what probably were considered 5 important players to us at the time in Collins Adams Davies Colwill and Robinson
However I am usually overly excited at this time of the pre season despite my age when I should a little bit more jaundiced
Can't wait
At the moment, I'm still of the opinion that all Bulut has done so far, is replace like for like. We've brought in Goutas in place of Kipre, Ugbo in place of Kaba, and Meite in place of Harris. So, are we really any better off?
And if Ramsey does put pen to paper, it probably means he'll be edging out either Ralls or Wintle from the side. More like for like, then (though hopefully with slightly more quality). Is that good?
What he hasn't done is actually improve the squad in any way, though I agree it might be too early to call that one. But then, the return of Collins, plus Bagan, should free up O'Dowda on the left, and if he has the nerve to play Tanner on the right, we could possibly end up with a slightly better side than we had last season. But can Ramsey and Colwill carry the midfield? Hmm.
But all this is going to mean the likes of Ojo, Sawyer, Philogene, Adams, Rinhomota, and King will be sitting on the bench all season. So things aren't all bad.
We also dont know if Kipre and Ugbo are as good as Kipre and Kaba. Also weve lost Philogene.
Ramsey though will mean a major improvement on our midfield.
We were missing Robinson the end of last season though who I think is a much better player than Kaba though not as good a finisher.
It will probably be a right old slog of mediocre football and a lower half finish.
The only saving grace would be wins against Bristol or Swansea but there is, obviously, no guarantee of that.
It’s a neutral or non-plused from me as well. Get Ramsey confirmed & another 3 or 4 new signings and I’ll have a positive rethink.
I think we were better than where we landed in the table last year and I think we are well on our way to replacing the loan players we've lost. We've a few key players coming back from injury and Ramsey will be a massive boost for the whole club.
I think we will surprise a few, that's the usual blind optimism mind. Last season I booked a holiday during play-off season 9 months in advance, as knew we were never getting to the play-off's. I've not booked anything during the play-off's during this season...
Come August it'll have been 20 years since I last missed a competitive home or away game mind (ignoring covid)... and I wouldn't be able to do that if I wasn't completely optimistic every season, so probably not the best person to give a view.
I Don’t think Bulut will last a season.
Last season was so miserable any improvement in style or league position will be a bonus. A solid start will help I think.
We started the pre season as 4-1 relegation chances and are now only 3-1 so I suspect we'll be looking up to most teams in the table all season
I'm no dml1954 but even I'm rather dismayed or at least surprised by the negativity displayed in this thread. What with Bulut not lasting a season and City justifiably being labelled relegation candidates I can't believe what I'm reading sometimes. I'm not a blind optimist but I do get a good vibe about the new season, far more so than for quite a long time. Still time will tell I suppose but I will be genuinely surprised if we're in a relegation battle next season.
This time last summer people were saying it was the best transfer window in the clubs history. Genuinely. Under trollope people were excited pre season. And the RevOLEution remember that?
Every club is the same in July. Never sign a bad player. Manager saying all the right things.
Things will finally click this time etc.......
Then the season starts and everyone remembers the difficiencies. Eg people genuinely saying in this thread we have good competition for goalkeepers. Lol. Crazy what a few weeks without games can do to people's perceptions of players.
Always excited. But mid table is my expectation. Hoping to see some real football. Some discipline in defense.
