2-0 up at Leeds, outplaying them - Bulut changes the shape of the team to hold on to the scoreline. 2-0 up at Ipswich, outplaying them - Bulut changes the shape of the team to hold on to the scoreline.
Two managerial fck ups already.
I missed the first 60. Working. All I saw was completely out thought and out run by the opposition. Ramsay shocking.
It really was Mike Bassett time in the second half....no one knew where to play
Bulut said all the managers played Colwell out of position so he then played him out of position
that was clueless, maybe you can sit on a lead in Turkey or Greece but away in the championship they are coming for you, you need the third and the fourth!!!
I think we had more goals in us as well if he'd stayed the course, the space was opening up as Ipswich attacked... and then he just ripped it all up at the first sign of trouble.
At no stage in that game were we in 'complete control'. Ipswich could have scored a few in the first half. They were always going to score, the question was how many. Some shambolic defending particularly for the 2nd goal, but also some bad luck. We used up our luck against Wednesday.
Theres no doubt some of the play was encouraging and far better than the slow ball dross we were playing under Morison.
However the way we completely folded against lets face it a not very good side is worrying.
Unless there was an injury to Ralls he should never have been subbed same as Tanner.
Lets see if there were injuries. If not that was complete mis management today.
Lets see where we are after 10 games.
Best we go all out attack for the SWD game then if we can’t hold a lead. I’m going for a 7-5 win!
We played really well in the 1st half, a cause for much optimism. However, we often played well under Morison without winning. The only difference is that we can now score goals, but is this is down to having greater quality in midfield and upfront rather than the coaching?
Two huge mistakes during the game; taking Tanner off (he may have been injured) and the switch of formation. But that has already been pointed out in this thread numerous times.
But also, I don't understand the dropping of Alnwick. Regardless of Runnarsson's performance, what type of leadership is it to drop a bloke who waited 12 months, patiently, for his chance without complaining and then when he had his chance he has simply been outstanding. I don't see that his selection of Runnarsson as being 'brave', 'strong' or 'ruthless'; as a leader and figurehead I see it as disloyal and lacking in integrity. It would be different if Runnarsson had been at the club for three seasons or so and had been proven to be a top player. Although, I am happy to accept that Runnarsson might be the better goalie but the change was wrong and sent out the wrong message to the whole of the playing staff. You can't demand loyalty if you don't show it yourself.
One final bitch, why three holding midfielders on the bench? Under what circumstances could all three possibly be used? Someone like Keiron Evans would have been extremely handy coming off the bench in the final quarter. We had no-one on the pitch who was a natural crosser of the goal. Surely the extra spaces on the bench should be used to give attacking options and variety.
An observation on individual performances is that Goutas is still unconvincing, his performances have been in-line with his playing CV.
The evidence of the start of the season is that Bulet can coach, but his tactical awareness and management style appear to be lacking. He comes a bit up himself trying to be too clever. He appears to see himself as Brian Clough or Jose Mourinho, but might be just a cocky version of Avram Grant!
Not having a go, but people were saying this is the best window we've had for many years. i personally wasn't excited about any of them apart fro Ramsey. They must improve and they must start to fight and battle. I'm tired of watching this team just give up
Anyone saying its the best window for years has lost the plot.
However there were encouraging performances from Grant , Tanner Collins and some decent football.
There were some appalling tactical decisions by our manager though and some worrying performances Ugbo in particular.
Tanner being subbed was one thing but Ralls as well???
Id never heard of Bulut before he was appointed.
Is he anywhere near Championship material as a manager and how long is he given?
Lets see where we are after 10 games.
That was a disaster of a game from our manager though.
Are you lot actually mentally retarded?
We have played away against 3/4 of the favourites to win the league and were highly competitive/the better team for decent spells in all 3.
Sucks to not get the points but after the past few years of utter dross if you can't have faith after those performances then its probably time to give up.
