England 30-0 chasing 230 about a quarter of a n hour ago,now 39-4 - how can so many good batsmen be in such awful form at the same time?
awful form or believing they are unbeatable with all the hype of the team, you can carry one batsmen playing in this manner but they all are playing shots like its that pathetic one hundred competition the 50 over format has been forgotten about lately and its showing now
Turned on to watch today, more out of lack of anything better to do than hope of a win. Pleasantly surprised by bowling and fielding display but now normal service has resumed by totally inept batting display and 81 for 6. Root out first ball, Stokes contributed nothing again, Buttler played all around a spinner, Bairstow and Malan poor shots. Just not interested by the seem of it. Just an ordinary batting display would win this easily. They should come home after this game now.
Seems the England team, like the rest of us, have lost interest.
Gone on far too long.
104-8 and I can not fathom what they are doing. Raschid and Willey are dead batting overs away. Why ? They need 126 to win off 18 overs. They might as well lose having a go, for goodness sake.
When's the final please?
Sri Lanka currently 29-8 against India.
The record low score in the World Cup is Canada's 36.

David Willey:- I think the fact that he knew he was not going to be awarded a central contract before he came out to India says to me that he’s been treated unfairly and has performed better than many other players who were awarded central contracts.
seems a squad full of cliques.
not sure if hes the first in world cup cricket mathews of sri lanka has been timed out .
It needed to be done. There is alot of time wasting in cricket. A few days ago in one match, there was a scheduled drinks break after an hours play and then at the end of the very next over, the batsmen stopped, took off their helmets, called their reserves on and had another one which took at least another two minutes. Then between overs in another game a team (think it might have been India) went into a team huddle between overs and stayed there talking for a least a few minutes - umpire came over and told them to continue playing but they basically ignored him.
Although it took longer to reach the decision to give him out and for the next batsman to come to the crease than it would have done just to get him a new helmet.
I guess enforcement of the rule can act to speed up future batsmen though.
The blame for slow play has to be with the officials. There’s 3 umpires and a match referee, but it’s the norm that none of them take any action or stop the 12th man (plus many others) from running on at the end of just about every over. Batsmen sending for helmets every other over if there’s a quickie one end and twirlyman at the other end. Every time a wicket falls the subs run on with drinks, even if there’s 2 wickets in an over. I noticed the other night that they took drinks, and the groundsmen came on to mark the crease when the side were 9 down.
So easy to stop. Drinks after an hours play, and no one leaves or enters the field of play without the umpires permission.
This Australia v Afghanistan game is unbelievable.
