Yes, that's right. I think he also suffered from being what what the Americans call a
'tweenie' - neither 'fish nor foul'; not big enough for a centre back and not fast enough for a full back. A bit like Xavier Benjamin who is currently on our books, Tom James was another.
Charlie Crew called up to Wales senior squad
Some proper and also shocking football news - City announce a game! 19th July at Afan Lido in the Nathaniel MG Cup. We were drawn at home but it's been switched.
A couple more fixtures announced
Tuesday 16th July - Barry Town United (A) - Kick-Off: 7:45pm
Saturday 27th July - Weston-super-Mare (A) - Kick-Off: 1pm
Glad they're playing Weston again - easy for me to get to.
Now also playing Potters Bar Town and Aston Villa:
Saturday 13th July - Potters Bar Town (H) - Kick-Off: 2:30pm
Wednesday 7th August - Aston Villa U21 (H) - Kick-Off: 2pm
James Crole has signed for Penybont. Could line up against us in the pre season friendly.
Ollie Denham has signed a permanent deal with Sligo Rovers. https://www.extratime.com/articles/3...oxford-united/
Do we yet know which of the 2nd year U18's have been retained and which have been released?
The only news I've seen is that Louie Phillips has (presumably) been released as he was on trial with Charlton
Just announced:
"Academy prospects Cody Twose, Joe Thomas, Luey Giles, Troy Perrett, Trey George, Ronan Kpakio, Cole Fleming, Luke Armstrong, Dakarai Mafico, Josh Beecher, Tanatswa Nyakuhwa and Will Spiers will all continue their journeys in the Welsh capital and link up with Darren Purse's U21s squad ahead of the 2024/25 season."

Thanks for that, very interesting. Some promising players in there.
I wonder what the plan is. It's a big first team squad and there's now a big u-21 squad too. There must be confidence that plenty of decent loan deals can be set up. Even in that group that have just signed contracts there are two right backs, two left backs and two keepers. We'll see.
Some new additions too:
"The Club would like to welcome goalkeeper Ewan Griffiths, midfielder Adeteye Gbadehan, as well as attackers Michael Reindorf and Luke Pearce to the Welsh capital."

Great to see so many being signed up, let’s hope they continue to get the first team chances that some of them have managed so far - I feel this is a strong year for our youth players and there should be a first team regular or two among them if the club and manager keep their nerve.
Decent article on lad from Norwich > https://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...hael-reindorf/
We haven't had much success over the recent past. Conte the only glimmer of hope (and his 1st team 'success' is not reflective of his U21 performances).
These signings always appear to be agent pleasers rather than skilled investments. I'm not sure I agree with them. We don't need depth at this level we need opportunities. These signings will restricted this for the others. Although the U21 squad probably could have done with an additional striker.
