Courtesy of the internet we can now listen to radio stations anywhere in the world. It's not just a case of R2 v GHR.

Indeed, yet FM radio, which countries around Europe in particular are trying to turn off in place of DAB and others, is still going strong. Around a third of radio listeners use FM while DAB is slightly more popular again. For all the stations that are available online, a large majority still prefer listening to radio broadcast over the airwaves. Not sure why, convenience I guess.

I'm sorry but it is in this thread, its the law!

But seriously, since I started he thread I kinda knew it would throw up a whole bunch of stuff that people listen to and in that time have sampled quite a few of people's recommendations.

Boom is a cracker (no pun intended) as is Planet Rock.

The adverts for many of the shows out there are a bit of a pain but a quick thumbing left and right on my wireless and you can miss all that stuff out
Radio Luxembourg seems a distant memory.

The BBC have done us all a favour by getting whatsherface in and shaking the place up, except themselves of course.

But do not knock Boom Radio if you are like myself north of 60, they play some decent stuff and the presenters are well informed and sensible.
A very subtle joke on Boom today, somehow make up came into it and David Hamilton threw in a “Woman, Stanley, woman”. A reference to one of Coronation Street’s finest lines.
Stan Ogden after giving Hilda a little kiss… What’s that lipstick taste of?”
    Hilda….”Woman, Stanley, woman”.
What a double act they were!!
