Are we saving them for the later stages?

Semi automated offside looks like it could be decent tech and much better than VAR

Who is next up for Scotland

A win and a draw should do it ?

They've played 5 today, 4 of whom play in the premier league. We don't have any premier league central midfielders. That's lots compared to us.

Bit of a poisoned chalice being the team that has to play the home nation, especially someone like the Germans, in a tournament opener. I think you’d have be the likes of France, Spain or Portugal to perform in this scenario.

We don’t come into it, I fear our race is run. Us, who’ve been present at recent tournaments, especially 2016, are privileged to have witnessed our golden era. I cherish the memories of that summer. Comparing any of our current players isn’t applicable now, sadly.

Gunn had an absolute shocker. When you are the underdogs early on in a tournament and the nerves are high you need your keeper to make some saves early and calm you down, he did the opposite. Still wonder just how different our 2016 Euros might have been if not for that unbelievable Ben Davies sliding clearance when we got carved open in the first few minutes against Slovakia.

God, yes, that was a game changer. It was worth a goal to us really and, in a way, pumped us up. Robson-Kanu’s scuffed winner as well. Fine margins eh.

Sarcasm doesn't always travel well to the keyboard..I meant we could still beat Germany at the time , we had just pulled it back to 4-1.

We have a very limited player pool . Hopefully we will give all those that travelled something to cheer before get sent homeward...

I was chatting about this to my girls team tonight, I pulled France out as my sweepstake team, someone pointed out Wales are not in it, which to a 16 yr old is strange, as they have only known, Euro16 & 20 and the WC, all with Wales in it, I explained the player pool that Wales and Scotland can pick from is much smaller than England, Germany etc etc, which does somewhat drive home how lucky we have been recently with Welsh results, some of the players in the 1/4 final win were not special, Neil Taylor, James Chester, Gunts, HRK, Vokes, Championship players, of course this was offset by Bales, Rambo who were top end players, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts applies I guess

Most under 30 playing at a top level .
Yes, decent individuals but not much of a team.

I would say that Wales have a better defensive unit and a more potent attack when they get their act together. Yes, Scotland were playing a strong German team but their ball control and movement was non-existent.

Although he's usually on point, he is far too honest to be a manager. The team would be a quivering wreck before they'd even kicked a ball. I think Fergie got it right, he could be one of the lads, but always had the hairdryer on standby.

What’s happened to Scotland? Eighteen months or so ago, they were one of Europe’s form sides, but this result has not come out of the blue, their results have been poor and I think Steve Clarke would have been under pressure in different circumstances. It’s hardly as if they’re an old side going over the top together - this time last year I would have backed them to get through the group they’re in and they still could, they’re not a great side, but they should be better than they’ve been showing lately.
