    Was it Caffrey's that went down with ease but caused the mother of all hangovers the next day? i'm sure they reduced the strength of it.

    You're right.

    Initially Caffreys on draught was 5%ish. It's not that now.

    Playing pool in the Crown was interesting, that’s where I accidentally learned how to play what passed as masse shots - at least one of the walls was too close to the table to play normal shots - there was one pub (think it might have been the original Canal Boat on North Road, thinking back, the Wyndham had one as well) that had a cue about two foot long for such shots.

    It was called the Hope, not the Canal Boat wasn’t it.
