David Lloyd George was at both Cup Finals in the 1920s but I’d be surprised if he ever went to Ninian Park. Stephen Doughty, member for Cardiff South and Penarth, is a Bluebird but has never been in office. Can anyone think of anyone else ?

That's our democracy for you, fewer votes and two more seats. Meanwhile Labour's share of the vote was up by a few percentage points but they got a huge majority. Reform got about the same share of the vote as the Libs but got 5 seats while the Libs got 71.

This was Plaid Cymru’s best ever performance in a Westminster election, securing 14.8% of the vote in Wales (up from 9.9% in 2019) and falling just shy of the record number of votes in the 2001 election (194,812 in 2024 vs 195,893 in the heady post-devolution days of 2001).

She smashed Neil McEvoy's return of 6096 votes in the 2015 general election and beat McEvoy in every polling district including his former stronghold of Pentrebane. McEvoy himself (the 'leader' and only elected politician of his party, Propel) recieved a derisory 1041 votes.

In the 2019 general election Plaid Cymru received 153,265 votes which was 9.9% of the votes cast in Wales.
On Thursday Plaid Cymru received 194,812 votes which was 14.8% of votes cast in Wales.
And 4 of the 32 MP's elected in Wales represent Plaid Cymru - which too is an all-time best.
Plaid Cymru receives, on average, double its Westminster vote in subsequent Senedd/Assembly elections. 30% in 2026 would almost certainly make Rhun First Minister.
Many people who vote for other parties in Westminster elections switch to Plaid in Senedd elections.
Plaid has only a very small chance of being part of any government in Westminster so many Welsh voters feel that it's a wasted vote in a general election.
The fact that 194,812 people don't feel that voting for Plaid is a wasted vote is a sign of just how strong and popular Plaid Cymru actually is.

Yes and Reform could easily be one of the largest parties in the Senedd after 2026. That's why Farage launched Reform's UK campaign in the Gurnos a few weeks ago.
If events go badly for the UK and Wales over the next 18 months Reform could, conceivably be the largest party in the Senedd after 2026
