They’re Herring Gulls. I learned about this stuff on the BBC World service. People should listen to a proper radio and learn something. I think it was in an episode of The archers repeat circa 1935.

I think the herring gulls are the real big bast*rds, few other types of gull aswell, they all seem to hang around together if I remember rightly
