I watched a lot of the U21's and U18s last season.

My view on Matondo is exactly that - very good prospect but not the best one at u18's or even in that position. Nyakhuwa got better and better as the season progressed showing not only guile and pace but also strength. Fleming also, in many games, was picked ahead of Matondo.

We rated him enough to offer him a pro deal, so it is not as if the club discarded him - it was his choice and probably because he was some way behind in the pathway to the first team, but who knows.

Not sure how Purse gets the blame for that.
If it wasn't for the fact that we probably have the most humongous 1st team squad in the history of the club, I think that Nyakhuwa would already be training with the 1st team. He really could/should be at that level already. Physically he's already a man.

It might be a discussion for another thread, but something has to be done about it reducing the numbers inbthe 1st team squad Rinhomota Adams, are rumoured to be leaving. There was some report on social media yesterday that Robinson would be returning to Preston in a swap deal and we must presume that Romeo's absence is 'move' related. But other that centre forward there really are no gaps in the squad and over supply in some areas, defensive midfield the most obvious; Ralls, Siopis, Turnbull and Wintle all vying for probably one position. Although, I still have no idea what Turnbull's position is.
