Here's one - If you had the option (and I guess to make this one work you need to think of him as being a different nationality?), would you want him in charge of Wales, or City?
    Yes!

No doubt Southgate's had plenty of support and that's not surprising given his achievements by comparison to the England managers who went before him, but I've never had the feeling that he's been especially highly rated.

The Netherlands are currently rated 7th in the FIFA rankings - above Spain.

    Strange but true.

A rich mans Bulut if you ask me.

Bit unfair maybe, and hopefully with the right signings Bulut will come good

I think the likes of Guadiola and Klopp are more responsible for the up turn in England’s national performances. The homegrown player development and exposure to world class competition provided Southgate with all the weaponry he needed. Unfortunately he didn’t really know what to do with it.

I don't think so. They were only 3rd in their group, then were 2nd best against Turkey.

You say Southgate is overrated. By who?
I wouldn't say any of those teams were top sides at the time they played England. Croatia reliant on a few top players, but a lot of mediocre players, the worst German side in years and an average Dutch side this time around.

The English media/pundits/a lot of fans on TV radio etc. I think this was a tournament too far, and a better coach would've brought better performances, momentum and more chance of winning it.

I agree with your final sentence, but not with the rest. Your argument about what constitutes a top side is just plain daft. For instance, Croatia finished runners-up in the 2018 World Cup and third in the 2022 World Cup, but apparently were not a top side when England beat them at the 2020 Euros.

Germany were not a good side at Euro 2020. The Netherlands weren't in 2024.

There's not much on the east coast

South Wales is great for sea fishing

I like pike and perch fishing when it comes to coarse angling
