53 on the roster, and 46 dressed for action each game.

And this is why modern football is so tedious.

Our lot must be happy with how things are going for them.

It baffles me how they just seem to accept the situation. Surely at that level you'd do more/try different things to gain an advantage?

Yes they have coaches and people around them, but surely at that level you'd want to do more to try and be that little bit better?

Depends how you look at it. I think they'll all doing as they're told, and Bulut won't accept individuality to an extent unless it's deep in the opponent's half. Footballers are having individuality coached out of them, too. Look at players like Foden.

Footballers will work on their game outside of training though, loads get extra coaching for example.

Sorry, I meant as in researching the opposition. Centre backs knowing a strikers runs, left back knowing if the winger cuts inside/has a weak front etc. I'm sure they watch bits of film as a group on the upcoming opponent but I really wonder how in depth they go and I think it could make a difference.

You can blame Pep for that

The analytics department take care of that and they prepare individual packs for each player. Sports science is huge these days when it comes to gaining a competitive edge.

You can blame other coaches trying to copy Pep and getting nowhere near it. His side are banging in over a hundred goals a season, not to be sniffed at as scoring goals is the whole point of the game.

I'm sure most goalkeepers do that, but I doubt many of the others do much individual research on the opposition.

The permitted roster for an NFL team is 65, whether they all take the pitch is not clear. NFL has systematically degraded itself into a sport which has become so departmentalised and functionalised that it can now only be professionally played and can only operate successfully as long as the college system exists. The interminable delays between plays mainly due to TV ads make watching a whole game invariably an exercise in tedium. The highlights show is the only way to watch it. The new game of Flag Football is slightly more watchable.
US baseball takes the accolade as the world’s most boring game. Paddy Hennessy would be turing in his grave!!

Was just curious if anything can be take from it, other sports included.

I watched the QB show as well watched the last one last night, didn't realise how tough them ****ers are. Got to be a mental **** to play QB imo.

That Amon-Ra is going to be some player same for JJ.
