You will concede as a central defender if nothing in front of you or either side of you is providing any form of support and those going forward constantly give the ball away in good positions leaving the opposition running at pace at your defenders who will be on the back foot .

In case anyone is wondering, we've had a goal difference of -5 after our first two games on 4 occasions so far. The last time was August 1989, when we lost 2-0 at home to Bolton and 3-0 at Tranmere. We've never had a worse goal difference than -5 after 2 games.
