Even one night out a week in British culture terms.....say 5 or 6 pints , kebab , bag of chips , a late night , poor sleep , affect next day ......is not acceptable surely?
I would be amazed if any of the top players touch the booze at all , plenty are tee total and those that are not are probably on a gentleman's agreement that there is no drinking during the season unless its a few drinks and a meal with a partner , family or a discreet away from the press , public etc
This is what proper , committed sports people do , there should be no excuses these days
