You take one line of a long post of mine and seek to make a completely pointless argument which has nothing whatsoever to do with what the message was about. What are your thoughts about the owner of the club making a series of decisions over a decade or more that make it much harder for him to get a return on his, considerable, investment?
You gave people not happy with the hierarchy at City two options, buy the club or walk away from it. I suppose that means you think every one still going to games should be like you - perfectly happy to see the team being beaten at home much more often than they win over a period of nearly four and a half seasons, perfectly happy to see the club having seven managers in four years (with a good chance that there’ll be another one before the season is over) and perfectly happy to see the club try to muddle through with a skeleton coaching staff and part timers occupying the senior administration positions. As I said, absurd.
I don't think anyone has been talking about boardroom politics.
The concern/complaints have been about the lack of a club strategy or even a short-medium term plan; a lack of decision making around the manager position and the coaching staff, and a crap record on communicating with supporters (or customers if you and Matt prefer).
The board and the owner have every right to act the way they do. Fans have every right to be pissed off about it, and not to just walk away (or have a whip around and buy the club off Vincent).
Blue Twat Matt sums up everything wrong with this fanbase
I agree with much of what has been said in this thread: yes, most people don't care about "all that stuff that the owner deals with".
They want to simply turn up, see their friends, enjoy the match, and go home feeling they've had a great day out. They go to the football to forget about problems, not to have more problems to deal with.
But, there are other people who want to see the long-term security of the club being managed, so that everyone can continue to have those great days out. They are willing to ask the awkward questions. They are ready to remind those in charge of their responsibilities.
It's a damning indictment of our current fanbase that supporters who care - those who are trying to hold the club hierarchy to account - get shot at or ridiculed for caring.
It's another damning indictment of our current fanbase that we have people suggesting "if you don't like the way it's being run, then walk away".
The sneering, dismissive attitude some Cardiff City supporters have towards the Trust and the other fans organisations would be disappointing if it wasn't so tediously predictable.
The fact of the matter is that supporters' groups have saved a number of high-profile British professional football clubs in the not-too-distant past. Clubs such as Brighton, Bournemouth, Luton, Swansea and Wrexham probably wouldn't exist now if their fans hadn't got themselves organised and done whatever was necessary when they were in trouble.
That means nothing to certain individuals, though. They'd much rather criticise and sneer at the fans who do get involved than ever do anything constructive themselves.
Good points well made.
It’s also pretty damning that after so many weeks of no communication from the club whatsoever all we get is a written critical response about not following some protocol. There were plenty of of opportunities in the past few weeks for one of the management to make a statement about the current managerial situation , even if it was just a holding statement
In reference to your last sentence, just to clarify, you’re the one who started with the snide comments regarding my initial post as did One or two others , what was is “ conspiracy “ and the like.
What have you done that’s helped the club more than me or supporters who don’t wish to be part of the trust ? I thought you were never watching them again and via various sources you slag off the club and its hierarchy almost daily for the last ten years or so - don’t you think that may put one or two casual fans off ?
Ive has corporate season tickets , and normal season tickets for the last 25 years, bought around Ł1,000 worth of crappy merchandise for my son per season since he was born , had him a mascot on numerous occasions and attended various off the field events. No big deal , people similar to me do the same and just get on with supporting the club year on year regardless of who’s running it.
Clearly, judging by the trust numbers compared to average gate , it’s a pathway the vast majority of supporters are just not interested in.
Who wouldn't want to watch a Brewsters Millions style show where someone attempts to spend a grand a year in the club shop.
Training tops , three kits , beach towels per year training tops and home and away kits for family members for Xmas year on year ( niece and nephews x 5) , footballs , hats and scarves, and three programmes per home game - how much does all that add up
The total spent ,which before tax is around the figure quoted ,it may differ by a few hundred pounds ( gross ) per year but shall we just continue with the current thread rather than scrutinise my gross expenditure ?
Typically it’s going off track again just because that what posters tend to do just to make a point usually not relevant to actual content of discussion
You said you spent a grand a year on merch on your son, which seemed mindblowing to me having seen the club shop. Makes a lot more sense if it was on all those other people as well, but I do worry about what's happening to all the beach towels.
But anyway, like you said, on with the original thread topic
Not me. Never was much of a club shop man, even during the days when I was fully engaged with the club. The odd scarf here and there perhaps, a polo shirt once in while (usually in the end of season sale) and that's about it really.
I'm surprised you are to be honest given some of your posts about clothes, etc.
In the last two days, I’ve watched three City podcasts and read this piece.

There’s a common theme between them - they were all produced by people who, according to some on here, need to either buy the club or walk away.
