Comfortable enough for Price. Don't think he's a contender this year though.

My thoughts exactly . He would have to improve dramatically and I don't see it.

Just a party song. Bit like boring boring tables.

Fantastic atmosphere , never seems to be any trouble , unless they keep it away from the cameras , lot of drunken "lads" in one place.

Jonny was right off his game tonight and Gezzy gave him enough chances.

Glimpses of a couple of years ago but agree that Price will need to up his game quite a bit to trouble the top boys.

He is still very much in it though and he has been there before.

Surprised to see Peter Wright is still alive after the histrionics at the end of his last game.

    Cmon Luke.

Perhaps I'll be proved wrong, but he doesn't like the venue, he's not been beating his chest saying he's going to do well, he's even lost the aura of him being a genuine threat. I don't buy into the idea he might somehow turn it on as he's been a champ in the past as he simply hasn't played well enough over the last couple of years to suggest that.

As for Jonny Clayton, I think his best days are behind him as well. I think it's difficult, when your game isn't quite there and the slide happens, to stop it and turn things around. Clayton, even if he doesn't look 50, jokingly said he'll play on the seniors tour, but I wonder if he's starting to think about winding things down a bit, less travelling and fewer tournaments.

Wow! Wright playing out of his skin at the moment and Luke seems to be stuttering somewhat.

    He's definitely in a game!

"You've only got to play well for two or three weeks of the year, doesn't matter about the rest..."

After finishing bottom of the Premier League this year by a mile, then dumping out the World Number One and current World Champion to reach the quarter finals, Peter Wright would disagree with you Eric.
I reckon that amazing performance by Wright could give a massive boost to the belief of Gerwyn Price that might be his year.

Yes, though in fairness I don't think many expected that from Wright and the irony wasn't lost on me!

However, I'll happily give £50 to a charity of your choice if I'm wrong, but I don't give Price a snowball's chance. At the risk of being wrong again, I'll stick my neck on the line.

Perhaps we shouldn't have been so surprised with Wright's performance. He averages 96 in the previous round and Humphries, for all the talk of him being one of the favourites, had hardly lit up the tournament, despite an incredible year. Wright, as he does, talked the talk beforehand, believed and delivered. I think JtJ made a point about Jo Wright being in better health as well, which has obviously been a big issue. Wright has plenty of previous when it comes to being out of form and then finding it again in big tournaments.

Meanwhile Price has moaned about being there this year, he wants the venue changed, he has been talking of retirement and has barely averaged 92. In virtually every sense he's been the opposite of Wright so far. Price's aggression on the oche is usually the biggest barometer of how he's going to perform and my sister's guinea pig demonstrates more whenever I try to get it out of the cage than he has this year.

Hopefully not some dark disturbing euphemism!
