Not only is it a cesspit these days, but it also just doens't work very well any more. I know a lot of people who have deleted it lately, its basically only the bots keeping it going at this point.
I think you have to play Tanner - he's one of the only ones who actually raises their game for the Swansea game.
I use Twitter for mostly news and football. I rarely click below the initial tweet as that's where all the shit is when idiots and bots have the chance to reply.
It's still one of the quickest places to get latest news.
My default setting is on 'Following' so I don't see the random stuff unless I switch to 'For You' and then it's like falling into a nertherworld of chaos. But I don't go there very often.
Yeah there are definitely ways to limit the impact of its decline.
For me the best thing about twitter would be to click on a post and see discussion around it in the posts below, nowadays all you get are bots posting completely unrelated things or girls advertising their onlyfans. Its a dying site.

My work involves a lot of social media, not much on X, though. I use it personally to see both sides of arguments rather than just looking for people who reflect my views. The problem is there are a lot of attention-seeking inflammatory comments on there
