fair point , the great communist states are, eerr ,
For me, wing is just something added to a word to continue to drive hate between different factions, let's be clear here, spineless Eric has used it in the context of calling people racist, but he's got no bollox, his innuendo is very clear when you look at his posting history. I dislike most politicians and gravitate towards different politicians on different days and different issues, WB has mentioned, it's a uni party and IMO he's correct.

I note in the Tory graph today, a millionaire is leaving this country every 24 hours, the politics of hate and envy is reducing this countries tax take, why not set a higher tax band for high earners but not a level to make them want to leave the country, is this right or left wing thinking ?
Well, there's a teaser.
A higher tax band for higher earners is 'left'. Angst that rich twats will take their ill-gotten gains to a different jurisdiction where they will pay less tax (as if they don't anyway) is 'right'. How we missed Phil Collins! Describing a desire for redistribution and equality as 'the politics of hate and envy' is capital letters 'RIGHT'.
Together you are strong
Divided you are weak

Rich twats, letting the guard downBTW i'm PAYE and may be a twat, but will never be a rich one
We want better housing
We want a better health service
We want better social care
We want better transportation services
The UK via immigration is growing annually at approx. the size of Manchester
etc.
etc.
some thing has to pay for for all the above and more!!, I have no idea if the Tory graph is right but IMO, the country shouldn't be making our wealthy look outside the UK to live and stash their wealth, taking say 35% of a million is better than taking 60% of F/All
Not by choice but i've only ever worked for wealthy entrepreneurs my current and what will be my last employer falls into this bracket i don't begrudge them or any previous employer having a lifestyle that most of us would like if being honest, these entrepreneurs, provide a backbone of employment to those who would never want the responsibility of running a business are prepared to turn up for 40/60 hours per week, do a job and get by O.K, i'm reasonably sure my views on individuals having billions wouldn't be far from yours (when my current employer bins me, tomorrow, next week, next year i have no idea when it will be) i've promised Doris that i'm going to call it a day and put my feet up i rarely keep my promises though!!!
Phil Collins, great drummer but ruined Genesis, he did write however, a great song called Driving the last spike, (we can't dance album) his lyrics in this song are stunning and all about working men & women!!!
WE could always Drill baby Drill to generate a bit of extra wonga, but all poiticians (all badge colours) would only divide it it out amoungst themselves.
Not sure if you know who this journalist is, but the Q peopleare anticipating big things because she posted this today she was featured in the Q posts a couple of times.

Some good,some rubbish as always.
One question lads?
Where does the centre come into this equation?
Just asking like
A higher tax for higher earners isn't really a left-wing idea. It's pretty across the board and I think the income tax rates in communist countries were typically the same irrespective of income, although I'm sure thats not universal. The top rate of tax under the Tories was also higher than under Blair's Labour.
The issue here though is how to get the tax rate right to maximise income for the state. Tax the "rich twats" too much and they **** off, or don't bother to invest. So it's getting the level right.
I'm not sure calling people rich twats and quoting Lenin is the best arguments to demonstrate a lack of hatred, but there we go.
Can confirm I definitely didn't miss Phil Collins!
I don't miss Phil Collins either - although I'm not sure he flounced when he said he would (after the 1997 election).
Also I didn't quote Lenin. The words are supposed to be from Q - the alt right shaman much beloved by some on here (and name dropped for a reaction by Heath). It just amused me to pretend Vladimir Ilych was the source (because it sounds credible).
I wonder how all those countries with higher tax rates (personal and corporate) than the UK manage to survive? A quick google check throws up most of Scandinavia, half a dozen European states that seem to be doing fine, and a few East Asian success stories. Maybe the tax rates are not the whole story? Maybe there are other reasons people choose to work and pay tax in a particular country? Maybe where there is more of a collectivist culture and an experience of good quality infrastructure and public services even the rich twats choose to stay and join in?
Can't see a doctor ? That's because most work 3 days a week, a few 4. With NI and a top slice of 45% tax, above a certain level you're working for less than half your salary. Airlines offer 60% and 80% contracts to captains for the same reason. Hospital consultants the same. If people can chose how much to work, they will, the same as choosing where to live..
Not sure, but Sweden has cut their income tax rates in recent years.
The reality is, particularly within the EU, that states do compete on taxes. With such a laissez faire economic system, tax rates are a key area of competition.
Perhaps the most famous example being Irelands low corporate tax rates.
