A higher tax for higher earners isn't really a left-wing idea. It's pretty across the board and I think the income tax rates in communist countries were typically the same irrespective of income, although I'm sure thats not universal. The top rate of tax under the Tories was also higher than under Blair's Labour.

The issue here though is how to get the tax rate right to maximise income for the state. Tax the "rich twats" too much and they **** off, or don't bother to invest. So it's getting the level right.

I'm not sure calling people rich twats and quoting Lenin is the best arguments to demonstrate a lack of hatred, but there we go.
