I agree that the human cost is off the charts, yet with people now flooding to the Middle East for vacations then such plans for here or the New Babylon (very much anticipated prophetically and also since Saddam began pouring millions of oil profits into restoring the glory of the first world empire) make commercial sense; not that this justifies any such ambitions from a moral standpoint.

Surely this full idea can't happen. Just Trump preparing the ground so he can give big reconstruction contracts to friends and family. The man is crooked and utterly shameless. To just stand there and propose ethnically cleansing an area is madness.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is being done with the intention of getting large numbers of middle eastern peacekeepers in there. With the message being either 'you send your guys in' or we will send ours and you won't like the results. Going forward, once it is rebuilt it certainly wouldn't hurt to add in a fair proportion of peacekeepers and civilians from neighbouring countries(not Israel), reset it as a place that functions normally with jobs and proper education ,rather than one that spends so much time in the futile quest to exterminate it's much stronger neighbour.

Try comparing the number of people entering the small island that is the UK, with this 6 million (in question) and the vast amounts of land and resources across their regions (the green bit).

Does Jordan have 4x as many homes as Israel? Are there a couple of vast empty cities the size of Birmingham with hospitals, schools, food and water just waiting to be occupied? Or do you propose they stick some tents in the sand and call it a day. Number of square miles means diddly squat if you can’t put those people anywhere.

The UK, one of the most developed and richest country in the world, struggles with 0.5m immigrants a year. Imagine China told us to take 5 million Ukrainians against our will, many of whom will be a burden to the state due to living in a war zone. Would we say yes with glee and open up the gates?

Why don’t the Palestinian people deserve any of the land? It’s been an Arabic nation for the past 1500 years, for 300 years before that it was Christian under the Roman Empire. Does the pope not deserve to carve off a bit for himself?
