Our NHS is such a precious thing, it must be protected vigorously.

All the best to you TLG, hopefully this remains dormant and you get back to full health

Considering some of the dreadful sides City have fielded during the intervening years and some of the powerful teams Leeds have had at their disposal during that time, the magnitude of this defeat shouldn’t be underestimated.

Hopefully, the manager, his staff and his players are ashamed of what happened at Elland Road and will do everything within their powers to ensure nothing similar happens again. This squad has a soft underbelly that has been exposed on several occasions this season. Saturday’s woeful performance should be a reality check for everyone involved, and also for any fans who were beginning to believe the current side is better than it actually is.
I totally agree. Funnily enough I used that phrase "soft underbelly" on Saturday night and couldn't help but think of another phrase once used on here (think it was by TOBW to one of Dave Jones's sides) - "flat track bullies".

More importantly, I can only echo the comments by others and wish you the best of health and hope everything turns out ok.

    Many thanks for the well-wishes.

Back to the matter in hand - I was looking at the Championship table following last night's results and noticed that Leeds United's goal difference (+41) is now eight more than the total number of goals City have scored this season (33). I know Leeds are a decent side by this division's standards, but that's ridiculous.

It’s four more than second placed Burnley have scored isn’t it?

It is. It's a crazy goal difference for this stage of the season.

There have only been 15 occasions where there has been a higher goal difference by the end of a second tier season with 24 teams in it. If it continues to grow at the same rate it has all season, it'll be at +64 by the end and only Reading in 2005/06 will have had a higher GD in the division in its current form, which was +67. There were previously 4 goal differences at this level even higher than that, but all were from 1920 and earlier, when they were goal averages. In 1895/96 Liverpool won the second division having scored 106, conceded 32 and having a goal difference of +74. That was even more remarkable as there were only 16 teams in the division that season....
