Bristol City are well clear in our league so no surprise there. They knocked us out the FA Youth Cup, bullied us a bit, but went to Villa and lost 3-2 having been 2-1 up with five minutes left so they seem to be a very decent side. We needed a full team out today but there were a few missing, I assume Jac Thomas and Dan Ola are injured while Mannie Barton was with the Welsh u-19 squad this week and Rob Tanciewicz was with the u-16s (he's not 16 till June).

I haven't seen much youth stuff this season but I'm trying to keep up with it. Feels like there's a bit more relevance about it at the minute, Riza genuinely seems interested in the youngsters and trying to improve them. The pathway is there between the age groups and progress has been made into creating a pathway into the first team too. It may be a false dawn, of course, but there are some encouraging signs.

Doesn’t look like. It’s rare for one of our under 21 away matches to be streamed, but I can remember at least one of them being in the past, so I was hopeful it would be - can’t find anything to that effect though.

I expect he'll get a loan somewhere next season, and it'll depend a lot on how well that goes (and which division we are in)

The highlights of yesterday's game aren't up yet but here are the highlights of the under-18s game with them on Saturday. From the sublime to the ridiculous with two of the goals. Their second (at 1.45) would probably just edge our consolation (at 3.30) in a goal of the month competition.
