It's just the same relentless neverending negativity all the time. Its so completely one sided. No attempt ever made to reach out or see things from the other side, or actually try to understand the appeal and tactics or thinking of the man (which admittedly isn't always easy!

Trump's whole life has been about making money. For decades that has been the persona he's tried to build, even though he hasn't always been successful at it. Other than the Epsteiny things, that's what people associate most with him.
He's unlikely to change in his 70s. Getting the government to pay overpriced rooms for all his detail to stay unnecessarily at his private property every other week is just one example of him enriching himself. There's no doubt that he is, at best, enriching himself more than the average politician.
So I would disagree that paragraph 2 is balanced (or same).
Wow, it only took one month for LTDS (lardy trump derangement syndrome) to kick in. Trump must be stupid, he could have got his son onto the board of a Ukrainian company and watched the billions rolling in while playing golf every day, instead of allegedly scamming a few thousand bucks on room rentals
So, essentially, you were just airing your own biases - I tried asking a few weeks back for things that Trump has done to improve the lot of the average MAGA voter in his first term and so far in this one and cannot recall getting a reply because nothing obvious springs to mind to me.
You’ve seemingly conceded that nothing the Guardian said was wrong, yet are complaining about their negativity. Well, from where I’m standing there’s nothing to be positive about when it comes to Donald Trump’s presidency. If we end up with a peace in Ukraine which does not involve them getting trampled over then that’ll be a definite tick in the box for him, but it seems the main reason he won was because voters trusted him more on the economy than the Democrats and there’s been little to justify that decision so far.
Starmer performed well. They clearly prepared extensively for that and the one two of Macron (a more natural politician) into Starmer seems to have worked well. Obviously if I look at it at face value it makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit but we have to play the game.
This meeting was about survival, whether they actually end up close enough for Starmer to exert even the tiniest bit of influence over Trump is another matter entirely. I think I've reached the point where I can't see any point in caring about what Trump does domestically so long as his desperate goons (mostly Musk and Vance) quit the stream of fear mongering and interfering in UK politics/society.
As for negativity, one thing I do admire about Trump is how much of a natural he is. I have to admit that I was chuckling at the answer to the 'is zelensky a dictator?' question, where he said 'did I say that? I can't believe I said that'. It's shocking that he can get away with that, it doesn't even *seem* like a U-turn and he was so comfortable answering such a difficult question.
