Starmer performed well. They clearly prepared extensively for that and the one two of Macron (a more natural politician) into Starmer seems to have worked well. Obviously if I look at it at face value it makes me throw up in my mouth a little bit but we have to play the game.

This meeting was about survival, whether they actually end up close enough for Starmer to exert even the tiniest bit of influence over Trump is another matter entirely. I think I've reached the point where I can't see any point in caring about what Trump does domestically so long as his desperate goons (mostly Musk and Vance) quit the stream of fear mongering and interfering in UK politics/society.

As for negativity, one thing I do admire about Trump is how much of a natural he is. I have to admit that I was chuckling at the answer to the 'is zelensky a dictator?' question, where he said 'did I say that? I can't believe I said that'. It's shocking that he can get away with that, it doesn't even *seem* like a U-turn and he was so comfortable answering such a difficult question.
