How many soft reds have we had...
That's a blatant red in anyone's books didn't need VAR for that.
It also delayed treatment as well

The ref needed VAR to send him off which is incredible.
Won't post it as the palace player is still in hospital potentially seriously hurt with his head injury and needed oxygen as leaving the pitch but I saw it live. Awful.

If VAR had a technical issue or it had been a couple rounds earlier he'd have not been sent off for that. Shocking that a top level referee at this level didn't think that's a red in real time. I've always disliked Oliver but if that's not enough to have a serious conversation about whether he's one of our top referees or not, what is.
Refs do bottle things more with VAR.
They say they don't but they do. They don't want to make the calls anymore. Same as ng penalty yesterday. Ref bottled it and thought let VAR decide.
VAR was for blatant things the ref didn't see eg Henry handball v Ireland or Zidane headbutt (when var was used before var existed as no officials saw it but they showed it on the big screen). Var wasn't for things like that right under the officials nose.
