Thread: Yousef Salech - How long will we have him?

Yousef Salech - How long will we have him?

I know players don’t tend to move clubs twice between two windows but if he carries on like this, is he likely he will be sold in summer?

Hope not, we’ve been wanting a player like him since Moore mentally checked out, but strikers like him are in high demand.

I don't think so. He's very promising but still a bit raw. I'm pretty sure other clubs will want to see how he shapes up over the course of a year in this division before taking any significant punt on him.

To me, he looks like a player who is ideally suited to Championship football at the moment, so I'd be surprised if any Premier League clubs would move in for him. They'll be watching, though.

What a contrast this guy is to Kanga! They're like chalk and cheese in terms of physical effort, mental commitment and all-round effectiveness. Salech really does seem to have the knack of getting into the right positions in the penalty area when moves are developing. Kanga, on the other hand, looked utterly clueless.

Hi isnt Premiership ready but I can see a higher end championship club or a lower top league team in say France going for him this summer if he keeps it up.

Burnley fans on their forum were very impressed, even to the point of wanting them to try us with a bid in the summer. How much, is the big question? Bit premature, I know, but strikers are like gold dust. As well as scoring, he bullies defenders as well……..at the moment (had to put the last bit in, after all it is a City striker we’re on about).

We're at an advantage that he came from a relatively low profile league where I imagine very few clubs had an eye on him and this is his first experience outside of Scandinavia.

A lot of clubs might wait to see if he can continue his form into next season or if he's just going through a purple patch.

His age, scoring record and contract would mean he'd command quite a high fee that a lot of clubs wouldn't want to risk on half a season of Championship football.

Not forgetting our "new" and supremely gifted scouting team finally coming out of the dark ages

Looks a very good player and a rare good signing. Dominated their CB's last night. Will need to do this over the next 14 months before we need to worry about clubs sniffing around him though

A striker that scores on a regular basis in the championship is worth 15m of anyone's money. If he continues in this vein I would improve his contract so anyone that wants him will have to pay a hefty price. Though my pipe dream is he stays and we build a team around him.

    Has a proper striker's instinct

I agree, they'll want to see him over the course of a full season in English football

Sorry Kaba or players like Darryl Dike also scored regularly for a while at this level.
if he can do it for a full season or more though he would be a very valuable asset.
a tall physically strong striker who can hold the ball up and score regularly is like gold dust. and he's a great age also.

And he was playing in Allsvenskan for Sirius. So looking abroad can uncover some gems.

Let's hope the stats are not 8 goals in 10 games
Then 5 goals in 68 games

If we get relegated he'll be gone this summer. If we don't he'll be gone next summer.

We got Ł8 million for Zohore with only 6 months of playing well. I think we could get a lot more for him, although I hope he's here for years to come.

Next Jan or the summer window after that. The bloke is a proper, proper handful. He's 6'5, quick enough, mobile enough, strong, holds the ball up, his game is decent, his movement is good and he scores goals you want a centre forward to score. He's going to be consistent because of this. I think this summer will be too soon but there'll be a desperate PL club in Jan that may come knocking if he carries on.

Maybe best to cash in before we train all his good points out of him

Jumping the gun, he’s only been here just over a month. Give the lad time before judgement is made.

He’s seems to have a great attitude as well

Great attitude, scores goals, gets in good positions, works hard, he’s been a breath of fresh air and long may it continue

Re: Yousef Salech - How long will we have him?

Rhian Brewster 11 goals in 22 appearances got himself a Ł23.5m move.

He turned out to be shit.

Depends on how long he's out when he does his Hamstring....

I tend to agree, but I must say my opinion has changed somewhat since the Burnley game - their defensive record speaks for itself and yet I thought he got the better of their centre backs. There aren’t too many effective tall, targetman types in the modern game and I wouldn’t mind betting that he’s already been noticed by some Premier League teams.

A article on the WalesOnline showing it was Riza that selected him and the board backed him enough to sign him.

    https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/...-this-31130628

Not sure if that's a sign of a good or bad club but seems to be a good fit so far.

Re: Yousef Salech - How long will we have him?

could be a decent call signing him on 4 &1/2 yr contract

with our recent history of signing strikers, when it signed it looked rather long and more money to pay up his contract, but maybe the club got this right

Yes he's good, aginst the best defensive team in the league, he scored, hit the post and the bar, we need to cross all game he's a right handfull and will leave more space for Robinson, Colwill and the rest.

it's all very promising, but remember Kenneth Zohore - another tall and quick Danish striker who had played in Sweden.
he looked the real deal - until he didn't.
