    Ramadan

Surely we cant expect our Muslim players to play during fasting? Does that mean we are without Salech and El Ghazi this weekend?

I think they can take drinks breaks if they so wish

Depends on if they expect to get paid.

Salah has seemed to manage alright for the past few years against the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. Im sure Salech can handle Sunderland.

Its not a difficult fast at this time of year, so Im told by a friend. Its the mid summer ones that are a killer. Although it will get harder as it stays lighter for longer. And everyones different I suppose, but id imagine top athletes deal with it better.

You can substitute days and catch up later, or even make a donation in lieu of fasting.

Can't remember which game I was watching the other day, but the ref blew the whistle at sunset to enable fasting players to have a drink.
With Ramadan in winter at the moment and daylight hours a lot shorter than they could be, it's much easier to observe than when Ramadan was at the height of summer.

This was Mazraoui at the Man Utd game. Obviously a lot easier at later kick off times as sunsets during the game. Im guessing even up north the sun will still be in the sky during a 3pm kick off

    Wouldn't that break the fast?

They'll probably still eat, and just pretend to fast, we need them fit and strong.

All muslims that play football that is physically challenging are allowed a chip dinner/lunch to keep up their strength

That's interesting, as I would have said that this time of year is more difficult when we always look for extra calories to keep us warm.

True enough, i've just made a coat out of multi packs of crisps and a hat insulated with a pie and half a chicken.

I reckon a pork pie hat would really set your head off
