Birmingham selling out 42k for the autowindscreen final- city memories and would we?

A decent chance we will be in that trophy next season. My only memory of city is a semi final in 1991 maybe v swansea? When being on sky was a big deal. Did we ever do anything else in that cup?

I think sunderland won it recently and took a huge following. Birmingham have sold 42k.

If we were to get to that kind of final i couldnt see much interest? Maybe im totally wrong just cant see it?

Day out/weekend in London with presumably a decent chance at silverware? We'd probably take a few, probably not 40k but Birmingham also have a real feel good factor atm

6.5k went to Villa on a Friday despite us playing them a bit recently and us knowing there was no real chance of winning

If it comes with doing well in League One (as it often does) and riding the crest of a wave etc then yeah I think we could. Perhaps a little less cos 42,000 is a fine number. A lot of clubs do take very large numbers to that final though and don't think we would be different

Easily take 30k+. Its cheaper than some away days and all kids tickets are a tenner.

Its a cup final at Wembley. The final between Peterborough and Wycombe had 42k in attendance and Rotherham v Sutton was 35k

Peterborough were averaging just under 9k and Wycombe 5k. Rotherham were averaging 9k that season, Sutton 3k.

Are we talking pounds or attendance

They've averaged no more than us for the last 10 -12 yrs, not incl. our promotion and PL years. I think their problems will come when they're still in the Championship with a 60,000 seater stadium and a billion worth of debt..

I've been to all our new Wembley games but I don't think I'd go.

    L1 play off final yes.

Don't particularly like the Wembley trip.

Yeah our 4 trips between 2008 and 2012 cant be matched by many clubs? I dont think thered be much excitement at all because of the previous trips. I get how sutton take so many for such a one off.

Sunderland won it in 2021. There was no crowd present (Covid restrictions).

A lot would want to go who didnt go to the fa/league cup finals. Will be plenty of fans now for who it was before their time. Id go to take the kids. Cant say Id be overly interested other than for them to see it

Roger Freestone of Fat fame said in his autobiography that his teams win in this competition knocked Cardiff city's win in the fa cup final into a cocked hat.
