Brilliant play by Joe Allen as the goal ran down the clock while simultaneously lulling North Macedonia into a false sense of security.
Great servant but WTF was Joe Allen doing, and more so why was he on the pitch at all - Rambo has played more minutes than him this season. Bellers needs to learn from this.
Thoroughly enjoyed this game - in stark contrast to boring, boring England.
Thought Wales were the better team, but a draw felt like a fair result.
Even Mrs Cyclops was shouting when Brooks scored.
How on earth did that Mace player miss his kick at the end?
A great watch!
Possibly not, but it's a loose pass regardless. Allen was also at fault against Iran, from memory, so I'm not buying Ashley William's idea that he is 'allowed' one mistake for Wales.
Great technique from Brooks for the goal though, he placed that beautifully. Some great build up play and passing from Wales tonight too and a point isn't a bad result after everything.
Bellers is doing a great job but he should never have brought J A back into the squad. A fine player in his prime but at 35 it's time to call it a day.
Brooks technique and calmness was so good that he even incorporated a nutmeg for extra measure......... The ball Allen played looked like a ball he would play at club level, a sort of automatic reaction, a knowing pass ort of thing, who knows.... i don't particularly like the grief he is getting from some, if it had been Ramsey then the reaction would have been very different on here. ome people are pissed i reckon because Allen was included in the squad above other players..
Maybe not, but in nearly 200 minutes of football, Allen took part in around 15 of those, it didn't quite go to plan, but his remit would have been to keep it simple, he didn't, although he built a career playing that way. I tend to agree with what you are saying, and maybe Bellamy was being a bit to clever for his own good, but it's not the daftest thing i've ever seen from a football manager.
I don't think Allen does that if he's match fit/sharp, that's my main gripe about his inclusion in the squad, he's not played since the derby and it showed. Even before then he wasn't a permanent fixture in their midfield
Putting aside a certain City player (who doesn't play enough according to Bellamy), then you have Charlie Savage playing regularly for Reading, hell you even have Will Vaulks and Lee Evans playing regularly. We've seen over the past few years the issues of playing players who aren't getting regular minutes and how rusty they can be, that's particularly true the older they get
Allen is shot, it was a bad decision and an even worse pass. I don't know how he's in the squad, let alone on the pitch. Credit to Bellamey though, he has got what seem like an average squad playing really well.
Who knows, i'd have to watch it again, i'm not sure he gets his body in a good position with the ball and he offloads it too quickly. I can sort of see Bellamy's logic with Allen, that's why he only afforded him 10 minutes or so, cool head, very experienced, doesn't need to run, he never has, keep it simple. Almost didn't work out. As for the unmentionable one, Bellamy just doesn't rate him, no more complicated than that i reckon.
I was surprised Charlie Savage wasn't in the squad. He has stepped up this season and will be ready to push onto a higher level. Practically an ever present for us this season.
