IF we do get relegated, then you need players like Ryan Wintle to help you cement your position in League One, for a long time...

He'd help us stay out of League 2.

There's another modern football phrase in that report for us to learn - "press resistant". Don't tell Tuerto.

I'm sure a hotel Corby would sort that out!

press resistant has been around as a term for quite a while, I fist recall it being used to describe Moussa Dembele at spurs at least 10 years ago.

"the profile" is a true innovation in football parlance though

Press resistant's not so bad when it actually applies to a player. Busquets for example, was undoubtedly press resistant

In his latest pre-match press conference, Riza described Sheffield Wednesday as having '"good concepts."

I was disappointed on Saturday. I thought we might be seeing some science fiction or something similar.

Beautiful player to watch, in his prime with Xavi and Iniesta...liquid football.

Hate to be the one to break it but Stan Ogden & Betty Turpin have both passed away but on a brighter note Ken’s still going strong

First time I've heard it, but maybe I've been spending too long in the half-space of zone 14.

Any updates on Minnie Caldwell or Albert Tatlock? I haven't watched Coronation Street since 1965 and I'm a bit out of touch.

'Forgotten man' Ryan Wintle is very easy to forget. He must be the most nondescript player in the club's recent history. Not the worst by any means, but a footballer who never stands out.

Remember that time he....? Nope, nothing springs to mind.

At least Wintle has a good engine and is very rarely injured - not a sick note as so many of our so called “stars” are. He is a workmanlike player in my opinion and usually puts in a 6.5/10 performance.

You don't remember the time when he took a corner and it went straight to the feet of the first defender - then moments later, he took a freekick that hit the wall?
When the crowd showed their displeasure, Wintle turned to them, and in a somewhat patronising way, gestured for them to calm down..

    My only memory of Wintle.

If he "usually puts in a 6.5/10 performance" for us, he'd still be a regular at the City and not someone who can't get into Millwall's matchday squad.

I was looking at Wintle's record and was surprised to find he'd scored four Championship goals for City. Two of those came at home - a 98th minute penalty against Sheffield Wednesday and a 95th minute effort against Ipswich.

So, during the last three seasons, one of which he's spent on loan at Millwall, Wintle has scored four Championship goals for City, while Rubin Colwill has netted just two. Strange but true.

Remember when he was on loan at Blackpool, getting rave reviews as a playmaker, people on here screaming for him to come back, just what we need etc. I think it was based on two posts on a Blackpool forum.

To be fair it was based on him operating the Waltzer at the Pleasure Beach……no such amusements in Bermondsey.
