Season tickets for next season.and no shows

I know in the March FAB minutes it said they don't want to release season ticket prices until we know what division we are in. It reminded me as I hear most other clubs are now selling them and don't we normally?

The club also said in the FAB minutes what a huge problem it is how many people don't bother to turn up even though they have tickets. They are going to look into what the issue is apparently. I wonder what it could be?!

I know you are referring to the poor quality on the pitch, but I know from the family stand, the number of no shows is very high, primarily kids. Part of the issue, sadly is the fantastic price of kids tickets.

I don't advocate increasing them at all, and we would only sell less if we did, but it's definitely part of the issue.

I think the savings on season tickets are now also greater than they were before versus match tickets, so I guess just generally people feel like it's not a massive financial loss to miss a few games a season?

I don't think the 12.30 kick offs help either but I'm not so sure about that

Yep. I think you only have to attend half the games to get your moneys worth of a full adult season ticket. Of a kids season ticket it's probably just a handful of games?

Paid their cash and can't be arsed watching what is served up on the pitch.

It's not as if they are taking up seats which could be used by non ST holders.

Kids seasons from £59 I think, so probably only 10 games to "break even".

I agree with you, but I do think our ticket prices are what they should be as opposed to being incredibly cheap. We still pay more than bundesliga clubs for example.

I'm not sure in practice what the big issue is. In the premier league no shows can be an issue as it looks like unsold tickets, means they can't resell it etc.

This isn't true is it? I used to pay £200 for a Bob Bank Terrace season ticket, I don't think I've paid less than £300 at CCS, certainly not by much anyway. Not complaining mind, our season tickets are reasonably priced

Fairly sure grange end season ticket for last year of ninian was 329.

Maybe bob bank terrace was slightly cheaper but the rest of the ground is equivalent. Not sure what that means with inflation etc

I remember in the last few seasons, and after restrictions post the Leeds cup game, then the Bob Bank terrace was the cheapest part of the ground, and cheaper than the Grange End. Makes sense really as it was uncovered. Presumably that would have been the same with season tickets.

It’s so sad: that (comparable to other clubs) we have fabulous season ticket prices, yet people don’t want to commit to it because of the way the club has turned it into a real chore.

My family used to have 9 season tickets, now we have none. There’s no single factor. Kids growing up & moving away, the Red debacle, Covid (Rip Always Away), apathy. The “event” has gone now. I got down when I can, maybe 8-10 times a season The last time I saw us win at home was Oct ‘23, Bristol City!

I have a ST, as do my two grown-up sons.
But I'm disabled and depend on at least one of them being able to take me, and usually I get to go.
But they have work and family commitments that have to take priority, sometimes neither can go, so on those occasions, I miss out too

Then you get televised games. I didn't think it would happen so quickly, but this has had a massive effect on weekday/evening games (especially when people are looking for an excuse not to go, because the football is so poor).

I've always viewed the family stand as 'part time' anyway, by it's very nature, so it's not an issue to me.

Basically, it comes down to what's on the pitch. You can guarantee that if we were playing great attacking football, and flirting with promotion, that the vast majority of people would be there. And others would be wondering why they couldn't get a decent seat.

It's the nature of Cardiff City and its fanbase. When the team isn't very good, people find other things to do.

There's a scheme called gig buddies based in South Wales that support people to get to events when needed - it maybe worth investigating that if you felt appropriate and there maybe other similar schemes as well that could support

Definitely, I'm based in London with a season ticket and have been for the last four years. I know I'd go to at least 10 games a season so I've just kept the season ticket since moving despite going to at max half of our home games. Thanks to the ST prices it gives me a bit of flexibility if I wake up and can't be bothered to get the train or whatever.


If you know you're going to around 10 games a season anyway, you may as well just get a season ticket if your finances allow when they go on sale.
