Im just repeating what was said regarding Tan about a decade ago- I can’t say for sure now, but I have a feeling that the “racial/cultural stereotyping” references originated from Malaysian sources themselves, so, presumably, we’re all right with that?

It appears as the first thing in this article.

Maybe it involves only showing up when things are going well so you think all is well in the world - a bit like emperors new clothes - just a thought?
Maybe all the games tan watches are some cunning stunt by dalman and co where they show him old games where we have won against the opposition in question
No because he won't appoint a Manager, just a old deadbeat, or a coach looking for somewhere to give it a try.
Investing in a top manager isn't just about winning, it's about saving money. Good signings + success on the pitch = huge financial benefits that easily outweigh a higher salary. The manager is the most crucial investment a club can make.
Yes, 100% Jon
I have rebuttalled (sic) many city fans for claiming Tan needs to put his hands in his pockets - no, no and no... not without clear footballing identity, football leadership (DOF, manager & coaches), a strategy and full time directors (CEO, chairperson) at the club.
This season especially, and for many previous ones, the one word which sums us up as a club, both on and off the field, is 'complacency'. And it is that complacency which will send us spiralling into League 1 - and boy do we deserve it.
Any corner turning has to start with putting people who know football in charge. It doesn't have to be a DoF necessarily, but somebody or somebodies at executive level with permanent decision making power who actually understand the game and what it takes to run a successful football club. Until he recognizes he, Dalman, Choo know feck all and have continually pissed money down the drain with whatever the flavor of the month is then nothing else really matters.
Unfortunately, the chances of him doing that after this many years has got to be pretty much zero. For whatever reason he's either unable to recognize it or wants to run things his way regardless. What's the definition of madness again?
As Des says, the entire board resigned when they lost money for one year. For example, in East Asia (and Japan especially), it is incredibly hard to root out corruption because reporting on your boss is deemed more serious than the actual offence and a lack of loyalty. I don't believe Tan gives a toss but it absolutely is a thing in Chinese (and Japanese) culture of which he is a part of. I will say this, and this is discussing it with my wife, the fastest way to lose face is by admitting you've made a mistake...
Will Tan change of his own accord? No.
Will Tans mother persuade him to change? No.
Will Dalman & Choo get Tan to change? No.
Will the executive team, collectively, get Tan to change? No.
Can we turn a corner with Tan staying as he is? No.
