Steve Borley opened the meeting by thanking everyone for attending, he said it was a
worrying time for the club in light of the recent results, but there are nine games to go
and all to play for. That's a relief.I thought it was five
Still havent forgiven them for that open letter nonsense that got us Riza as manager.
Those minutes a load of rubbish lets be honest. Fair play for those using their spare time but it makes no difference.
In fairness I think we can see now the FAB just exists to discuss such cutting edge issues as those in these minutes. No answers at all anyway just some general discussions around low attendances and the club shop etc......
I don't think it was supposed to be getting involved in stuff like they did before Xmas with that letter.
The club have never listened to the fans before so it would be unusual if they chose that occasion to listen to them by appointing riza so I don't blame them for riza- but they did get what they wanted.
I think we was appointed as a permanent manager due to the open letter dont you? They broke protocol agreed by doing it. No sign of a new deal for Riza, letting it play game by game, poor run of form
FAB open letter 02/12
Riza appointed 05/12
Club Response to open letter 07/12
Its still on Tan but are you 100% sure the open letter had no reaction to it at all?
Clearly two fingers to them for it.
I studied at Birmingham Uni and watched Villa/Birmingham a handful of times. Mainly when there was cheap tickets.
Students are never going to buy season tickets but may come down for a game if tickets were very cheap with a student card. The problem is as a neutral you would be bored to tears with the matchday experience, atmosphere etc so it would be a one off and not worth pursuing for the club. Be better off targeting local schools.
My idea that Im sure Wayne Nash would have something to say about but Id hand out 4000 physical season tickets for the red stand to schools around Cardiff and the Valleys - say 40 each to 100 odd primary and secondary schools to use as they see fit each week (whether thats rewarding kids and their family one week/a trip for the year 8s one week etc). Try and fill up the stand each week with free tickets until we are back in a position where we can sell those seats. In the meantime it is only a small amount of work for the club in the summer, it benefits local schools, and most importantly we may actually pick up a few fans along the way
1000 tickets dished out for today alone wont touch the sides
Is it not possible that tan dalman choo et al had kind of forgotten they hadn't resolved the riza situation? He was just in charge but not.
Wouldn't have been a conscious thing but wouldn't surprise me if it had slipped their minds and letter getting some publicity reminded them there was something they needed to do?
It was only slightly tongue in cheek.
They wouldn't listen to the fans of course but the neglect in the day to day running of the club has been so severe in recent years it slipping their minds (that they hadn't actually appointed a manager) wouldn't surprise me
Or maybe I'm being unfair and they still thought those super agents or whoever they were were finding us someone....... (does anyone believe they actually existed? If so and we ended up with riza is actually quite tragically funny)
The fact is Tan had summoned Riza to Malaysia a couple of weeks earlier for face-to-face meetings and Riza was banging on in the press about his and the squad's 'uncertainty' at every opportunity. He's said all along that he speaks to Tan regularly. No way in the world had Tan and his cronies forgotten about Riza's situation, and no way in the world did they appoint him because a small number of fans wrote an open letter.
I'd say it's possible that they were sounding out other people, hence the delay, but they didn't suddenly decide to act because of that letter.
Our fan groups should just stop engaging with the complete idiots running the club.
Is there any point. Let's have a complete no confidence in them
