I suspect his press conference this week was the thing that finally spurred them into action. Riza looked terrible, talked of splits in the club and branded fans clueless. It was as if he was seeking the sack.

I reckon Tan and Co thought it was too late to do anything before the Sheffield game as the team was already travelling to that and they will have expected to lose anyway. They probably talked to Ramsey and Gunter following the press conference. I doubt they did that this morning (although you never know).

Really didn't expect this, so late in day.
I would have brought in Warnock as a completely fresh face, but I'm not going to complain with this set up.
Will galvanize the crowd, if not the players, so hopefully we will get a performance Monday.
Team selection will be interesting. Hope he chooses on merit, not favourites.

What realistic options does he have?

If we do stay up, it will be despite the three part timers at the top - as it is, they’ve been having their judgment proved to be totally useless when it comes to choosing managers for the club every few months over the past five years or so.
Youre right about the Luton match, in my view Luton away

Not with me they wont. Every season they cock it up and for the second time in three seasons weve ended up with three managers in a campaign (I suppose theres still time for them to sack Ramsey) - its farcical.

    This is incredible.

3 games to go and they bring in someone in with even less experience than Riza

‘Ridiculous’ is a word that could have been used for years re. The City, don’t think the adjective has been invented to improve on it.

Whats the bet if he keeps us up, we end up giving him the contract and bombing again

I love Cardiff never a dull moment.

Imagine being a mid table prem club boring year after year

I think you've got the wrong club. Watching Cardiff City has been very dull in recent seasons.

Probably has more passion, tactical awareness and experience of being a winner than anyone else likely to jump in, its no risk really, were virtually down, now we have a slight chance of avoiding the inevitable.

Id rather see Ramsey and the rest there for 3 games, even if it is the last throw of the dice

Given the recent performances, who do you think he should choose on merit?!?

I was thinking that myself 😂
If he chooses on merit we wouldnt have enough for a 7aside game.

Agreed, he knows the personnel, no introductions or a ‘getting to know you’ period, which we haven’t got the time for. I’d imagine the more senior players have privately had their heads in their hands over Riza and his ways, something that many of us have done re. Bosses at work promoted above their station. It can’t be any worse and it’s still, amazingly, a fact that we’re still comfortably in touch with safety

Oh yes, but Ive thought that of the entire championship for a number of years

I certainly think its getting weaker not stronger

Really hope Ramsey and co can inspire something but I hope Tan gets no credit for it if we do.
You can bet your arse that Tan will take the credit if we do stay up

Re: Riza sacked. Aaron Ramsey takes charge

Should have made a change ages ago, but this does give me a tiny bit of hope that I didn't otherwise have. We're at the stage now where we just need a change, whatever it is.

Can we all agree now that if/when we do go down, Ramsey's status is not diminished?

I worry that it's a fool's errand, like Shearer at Newcastle United those years ago.

    What goes around comes around

Oxford beat us on Boxing Day in Rowett's first game as new boss.

Maybe Ramsey can enjoy a win in his first game in charge

Netflix have missed out on a cracking series by not following the club's goings on this season.
We'll probably escape now with Horvath scoring in added time at Carrow Road.

    Does it matter

Re: Riza sacked. Aaron Ramsey takes charge

Riza was way out of his depth so much so I felt sorry for him.
Like when you have to put a pet down.
Do I feel we have 1% more chance of survival now? I think I do.
