I dont understand what youre saying in your first sentence in relation to my post where I made no reference to the type of manager we should appoint - if anything, Ive argued against the view that our next manager has to be an experienced one.

Wish it was as straightforward as just being down to what type of football we want to play. Wed become a crap long ball team by the time we tried to change our approach and weve made changing to the way of playing favoured by our Academy look much harder than it needed to be.

    You quoted this from TLG

We can only hope that the penny has finally dropped. It's a remote possibility, but a possibility all the same. Maybe relegation to the third tier will at last convince Tan that he needs to employ people behind the scenes with genuine knowledge of the game. Perhaps he'll finally realise that cutting corners by employing the cheapest options as managers and coaches is an idiotic false economy.
I don't think former players on the board, or a DoF is critical, so long as everyone is competent.

Look at currently the most sucessful club Liverpool. They're board is littered with expertise but not necessarily in purely football.

We're both unlucky and poorly managed. Dalman is the one that needs to go.

“I am fully aware of the expectations and responsibilities that come with taking this position. It will be my job, working with Michael Edwards and leading the football operations team already in place, plus the wider staff at the AXA Training Centre, to make good decisions. That’s really what the job entails: you have to make the kind of good decisions which enhance the prospects of having a team that wins and excites the supporters." (Richard Hughes, Sporting Director, Liverpool FC)
