They've sold over 50k. 8 additional trains from Bristol to cardiff and 5 additional trains from bath to cardiff. City centre should be busy!
Far bigger than the judgement day crowd they had there a few weeks ago!
Know quite a few local rugby fans who are going today but didn't go to the judgement day the other week.
I don't blame them but its a sign of the state of the club game here.
Very impressive crowd and a great day out for them in this weather. It does cause disruption though and there will be many in Cardiff who don't bother going into town as a result. I think it's great we can host it though.
Does demonstrate the dire state of the game here too. Bristol will probably end up with more fans attending home league games in Wales this season than the Ospreys or Dragons. What a joke that is.
It does show what building a stadium in such a great position can do as well.
It's a fantastic place for pre-post match.
England missed an opportunity rebuilding Wembley. Terrible location.
Is it just a standard league game, cup game or playoff of some sort? 55k is very impressive whatever it is.
Bath have won the league from what people road here have told me ( Im Welsh, so must follow rugby it seems )
Good game so far, Bath need an early 2nd half score to stay in it IMO.
You could look at it another way. Wembley Stadium is in a perfect location for the FA, not a lot around the area, so a lot of fans money is actually spent inside the stadium, win/win for the English FA.
You could say that the WRU missed an opportunity not building a new stadium on a site that was considered, I believe, off the M4 near Sarn. What a match day money spinner that would have been with the WRU owning and running every drink & food outlet. As it is, they witness thousands of fans/customers entering the ground as late as possible having spent a whack of money elsewhere and then doing the reverse immediately after the game.
Great location for fans, yes, but from a business point of view Wembley has the more captive audience.
There's been talk in the press (particularly Stuart Barnes in the Times, who is very pro-English) that the Guinness Premier needs Welsh clubs. Every rugby fan knows this. Because of rugby's current difficulties there's a possibility it might happen.
So this English game in Wales might mean something more. Or probably not.

A rugby thread on ccmb without a single disparaging mention of eggs or daffodil hats.
Very strange.
Maybe because they are posh rugby fans and not the great unwashed that flow down from the valleys.
My lad did 3 gigs in town yesterday, very busy with no bother that he saw. 50,000 additional bodies will have been good business for the boozers.
Real rugby fans, is it ? Sounds snobbish to me.
I know plenty of Wales rugby fans who watch the international games that appreciate rugby and aren't just there for the piss up.
Just strikes me as a touch sycophantic and gushing towards the upstanding west country toffs , whilst looking down your nose at the simpletons from the valleys.
The poshest lot were probably at the "foodies fest" (was it really actually called that? 🤮) with their £14 "street food" (or "food" as it should be called)
