That amount of money for Celtic who have already pissed the league 13 of the last 14 years, outside of the possibility that somebody puts an equivalent ton of money into Rangers is there any point in a competitive Scottish league? I imagine it's the same problem for other leagues that put one team in the group stage but possibly not the same team every single year like it is for Scotland.

It's all very lucrative. The champions league especially, but the conference league also makes a huge difference to clubs in smaller leagues, such as TNS, Larne, Shamrock Rovers and the like
