Thread: Rinomhoto gone

    Re: Rinomhoto gone

It shows how bad we are when Rino was player of the season when he was poor the previous 2 and ended up going to another club who got relegated.

You can't question is effort last season but let's face it hes not very good is he? Definitely good enough for L1 and id rather him than some of the rubbish we have under contract. However if we want to go up and then kick on then releasing him is the right decision.

He doesn’t look comfortable in any position he plays. He works hard and gave his all when called upon but let’s get someone better in.

Our midfield play has been dire for a number of seasons. Rinhomota, whilst a wholhearted player, has partially contributed to that.

BBM, I'm guessing, is going to want technical as well as energetic midfielders.

It will be interesting what happens with Turnbull and Wintle as both are good passers. Also to see what happens with Chambers positionally if he stays.

Chambers-R.Colwill-Robertson would be a pretty good midfield at League 1 level. King-J.Colwill-Turnbull/Wintle pretty good back up.

For those of us who watch the U21's, Cody Twose is a midfielder that I'm sure BBM will love.

We still have a large squad and I'm sure that BBM will add 3-4 of his own type of players; we are in for a very excited interesting 12 months. Did we need to go backwards before we could move forward?

I think Bagan did well whenever he played last season, I wouldn't mind if he was our first choice in L1

100%. I said to my old man a few years ago that we need to go down and rebuild to stop the rot. Hopefully that starts now.

Everyone getting worked up about the departure of a pretty average journeyman. Rhinomota was okay, and could usually be relied upon to put a shift in, if and when he was selected. Probably on a good wage, and his contract was up. End of story.

Wintle = 5-yard sideways or backwards passes. He's never demonstrated good, incisive passing ability.

Getting worked up is a bit of a stretch isn't it?

Pretty much. Stood out because he was willing to put a shift in and defend like he cared, despite being played out of position. No attacking threat when played at RB and not good on the ball or progressive enough to play in midfield, at least for a Championship or top of L1 team.

I liked Rino and I think he may have stayed under any of the other managers linked.

BBM has a certain way he wants to play, and I don’t think Rino fits at CM dropping deep and collecting the ball and not good enough at right back in the final third.

Also midfield needs a big refresh so losing nil and Ralls off the wage bill just made sense. Hopefully Wintle, Turnbull to follow.
