As I,m old school Enlighten me posters any decent modern bands to keep an eye out for this year ?
How new and what genre?
Well I don't think you'll ever see Iron Maiden there...
Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has no interest in playing Glastonbury: "I've always said I'd turn it down if we were ever invited. I don't want to perform in front of Gwyneth Paltrow and a perfume-infested yurt."
Been many times but looking at the line up is rather watch Noel Edmund’s kiwi adventure on itv……
I missed English Teacher earlier so that's one I'll try to catch on repeat.
Theres plenty of other more established acts I'll watch including Self Esteem who's just started. Green Tea Peng who recently played Tramshed could also be worth a watch.
anything like this will do

Thought Lola Young was good.
Love watching Glastonbury on the telly but would never want to go there. Wallowing around for 4 or 5 days in other people's sweat, piss and shit without being able to wash just doesn't appeal to me.
I think that it’s a mind set.
I was FaceTiming one of my best Mates back in Newport earlier this evening and he’s trying to convince me to come back and go to The Green Man Festival.
He’s 52 and still loves finding new bands with the enthusiasm that we did when we were teenagers.
A good few years ago we went to see Sleaford Mods at Cardiff Uni, which was fantastic and followed up by a dub dj session back in Newport.
I used to go to TJ’s and Le Pub watching live music every week.
Last show that made me get up of my arse was Stiff Little Fingers about 5 years ago.
Now it just seems like a ballache to jump on the metro for an hour to watch someone.
When I first got here, I was at the 930 Club every other week.
I’m listening to Bruce Springsteen - Nebraska as I type this.
Maybe I should fall in love with speed again :)
Going there isn’t really anything like watching it on tv which is why I don’t really watch it. I think I only went to the pyramid once or twice ( memory is a bit vague) there is so much more and pop up gigs here and there in remote places that you just need to be quite lucky to find. There’s always whispers of where to aim for and that’s half the fun. Are the 1975 the best there is at the moment?
I may live closer to the festival than anyone else on here but I've never fancied it. I should make th effort one day but I don't miss the annual Upton Blues Festival.
It's free over the whole weekend and takes place in a twee town a picturesque bend of the Avon. There are about a dozen venues spread throughout the place, ranging from street corners to marquees and in the church - and all within 5 minutes walk. There will be 190 performances this year:

It's free, there's no entrance points and the camping prices are very reasonable indeed. One can access the shops as on any other day and the pub prices are not inflated for the weekend.
You never find yourself a quarter of a mile from the artists and standing space is not a problem anywhere.
It takes minutes to return to the campsite to freshen up, cook or kip and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and the street are buzzing without it feeling oppressive.
The town also hosts both folk and jazz weekends too.
It doesn't host the biggest names but it's a great place to discover unfamiliar artists or those used to fill smaller venues.
Never been. prob never will.
In fact, the last open air event I went to was Led Zep at Knebworth in 1979.
Since then, seen a load of geriatrics still trying to cut it, and quite a few tribute bands.(some very good)
Now, where's my slippers and cardie?
